Mitsy Lopez (Mlopez@sig.bsh.com) and Paul Baranello moved from New York last year to San Francisco, where Paul is a production quality supervisor with Ecolab, an international soap manufacturer, and Mitsy does Web marketing and site optimization for Strategic Interactive Group, a Bronnercom subsidiary. Mitsy says they see Julia Mijin Cha, who's in law school at Hastings, Victoria Milne, in vet school at U. of California, Davis, Jerard Crave, still teaching elementary school, Soo Choi, a financial consultant, Collin Pieper, working for Apple Computer, and Mineko Matsuno, MAE '99, who's discovered that working for an Internet start-up is a lot more fun that pursuing a ABEN degree. The gang received visitors Neeral Shah, Adam Shoer, who's just back from work with the South American Explorers Club in Lima, Peru, and Chien Huey, a technology consultant for Ernst & Young in New York. Mitsy also saw Evan Phillips, who liked teaching English in Japan so much he's staying an extra two years and plans on returning in the fall, Luke Shoberg, an IT consultant, and Andrew dePasquale, a copywriter for McCann-Erickson/Anderson-Lemke.

One more long update, this one from Scott Christensen, who continues to enjoy the challenges of working in global strategic sourcing for Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati. Scott visited Washington, DC, last year, where he spent time with classmates Dave Grannis, who planned on Harvard for a master's in public administration, and Todd Goldwasser, who accepted a position with Ernst & Young, as well as Brian Gruber '95, a law student at Michigan, Mitch Kent '98, working on Capitol Hill, and Justin de Koszmovszky '99, working for Kaiser Associates. Scott reports Steve Kinsey took a job in category management with Warner Lambert in New Jersey, where he expected to live with Geoff Hoffman and Mike Keeley '95, ME E '96. Scott also says that Jesse Perreault, who left Honda in Columbus to explore the nation, sent a postcard indicating he was having the time of his life scaling 14,496-foot Mt. Whitney in California.

On the marriage front, a few updates before this summer's round of weddings gets under way. Jeffrey Haubrich married Lori (Giovina) '96, BS HE '97, in July 1999. The couple will reside in East Northport, NY, where Jeffrey will teach and Lori will serve as a public school counselor. On October 16 in Ithaca, Jason Brantman (jeb9@cornell.edu) and Fiona Santos (fiona11@mindspring.com) tied the knot. Cornellians in attendance included best man Michael Tessler, MSE '98, Laurie Ehrlich '99, and Rice Majors '94, who played piano while Kristin Maloney and Jaime Valles '99 sang. Jason and Fiona's dog, Sprout, "Queen of the Arts Quad," served well as the ring bearer, but later fell asleep in the middle of the ceremony. The couple concluded their stint performing and directing at Walt Disney World to relocate to New York City. Kathryn (Boniti) and Scott Wallace wed in Syracuse on Oct. 9, '99; among the wedding party were Cheryl Tourney, Michelle McKee, and Dan Jablow. Last fall, Kathryn reported she worked as an account executive with Gibbs & Soell Public Relations in White Plains, NY, while Scott is a securities trader with Angelo, Gordon & Co. in NYC. Kristin (Powers) (kmp3@cornell.edu) and Frank Goppel '95 (frg2@cornell.edu) got married Sept. 25, '99, in Boston. Cornellians in attendance included Jenny Kapelyan, Melissa Weiss, Renu Giyanani, Christine Tempero Anthony '95, Brian Machinist '95, John Barney '95 and Mike Filiatrault '95. After spending their honeymoon scuba diving in Aruba, Kristin returned to her position in R&D at Arthur D. Little and Frank to his job at EMC Corp. Kristin reports Boston alumni have been frequenting "PMP," the new Hot Truck franchise in town. "It's pretty close to the original--makes us a little less homesick for Cornell." Christina Uva (cbarlow@arn.com) married Kristopher Barlow on June 5, '99 and is living in Boston, where she works for Arnold Communications as a manager on the Royal Caribbean Cruise account. Finally, Anthony Scattone and Leslie (McQuitty) '98 got married in Texas.

Randy Garutti (rgarutti@hotmail.com) has been living on a houseboat in Seattle and working as general manager of the "Northwest's finest restaurant: Carlis." Randy's moving back to New York to manage Tabla, owned by Danny Meyer. Ruth Potes (rpotes@yahoo.com) has also changed gears: she left Wyndham Hotels and in October became the marketing manager for Show Digital Inc., a Manhattan-based Internet service provider for hotels and convention spaces. Jake Sacks, MS I '98, (jacobsacks@yahoo.com) is also in New York City, working for ING Barings, and reported he took a millennium snowboarding trip in Geneva, Switzerland, with Jose Guimon, MS I '98, and Jeronimo Escudero, MS I '98.
