Class of 1997 10th Reunion Campaign
In honor of our 10th Reunion, our class organized a special fundraising
campaign to increase support for Cornell. Our goal was to raise $650,000
from 625 classmates, including 14 Tower Club members (gifts of $2,500+) and
150 Giving Society members (gifts of $250+).
We are proud to announce that we raised $694,740 from 662 classmates,
setting a new all-time record for dollars raised by a 10th Reunion
class. This record was previously held by the class of 1991 with $619,645.
We also set a new all-time record for Giving Society membership with 219
members. The previous record, also held by the Class of 1991 for the past
five years, was 191 members.
In addition, we topped our Tower Club goal of 14 members, ending the year
with 15 members; and more than 425 classmates supported the Annual Fund
this year, surpassing our goal of 400.
Thank you to everyone who made a gift or volunteered as part of our Reunion
Campaign Committee.
All gifts made by class members from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007 counted
toward our Reunion Campaign totals. Matching corporate gifts from a
donor's employer were also included in our totals.
Progress as of 07/24/2007

Myths and misunderstanding about our Reunion Campaign:
The money raised by our campaign isn't used to organize or subsidize the cost of Reunion weekend (June 7-10, 2007). Each classmates can direct their gift to any area of the university they care about. There isn't a specific '97 Reunion Campaign fund. If you give to any area of the university, you're automatically counted as a donor.
We hope classmates will direct part (or all) of their gift to one of the Cornell Annual Funds. Cornell Annual Fund gifts are vital to the health and continued growth of the entire university. These gifts bridge the gap between a dean or director's budget line and the college or unit's actual needs. The Annual Funds are the unrestricted funds listed on the Cornell Annual Fund pledge card. These funds are also list in the drop down menu for gift designations on the online giving page: https://www.alumni.cornell.edu/secure/giving/online_giving.cfm
Class dues payments do not count in our Reunion Campaign totals. Gift to the university and class dues payments are separate. Gifts help support academic priorities and programs at the university. Your class dues payments go into your class treasury and these funds are used for class events and mailings. In addition, you can subscribe to Cornell Alumni Magazine as part of your class dues payment.
